Ipad Painting

My husband really spoiled me this Christmas, among other things, he gave me an ipad. I was so excited. I found an app that works pretty slick, it's called art studio and is made for the ipad. It was fun planning a future painting with this little sketch.

Untitled

Untitled
8x10 oil on panel

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. We sure did. I love everything about Christmas, but I'm always glad to get back to normal life.
I started this painting before Christmas and tried to finish it to make a card out of it, but, you know how crazy it gets this time of year. I finished it today. Everything about it was a challenge to me, but I learned so much. Thanks for visiting. God bless you in the coming new year.

Silver and Red, oil painting still life

"Silver and Red"
8"x 8"oil on panel
$175 free shipping
I am a lover of Christmas. I love everything about it and try so hard to squeeze as much out of the season that I can. Always trying to do the same things we did the year before and the years before that along with trying to experience new things. For the first time, I have painted something "Christmassy". I love the shiny things of the season, and the smell of pine and have attempted to put a glimpse of it in a painting.
Thanks for visiting my blog. I would like to wish all of you a blessed and merry Christmas.
Oh yeah, shipping is free during the month of December!!!!!

Thift Store Treasure

I did alot of thrift store shopping while in my hometown of Omaha. My daughter, Jaimi and my sister Kelly are thrift store shopping pros. I looked for interesting objects to paint while there, and this was my best find. A very tarnished silver pitcher. My sister showed me a great way to shine silver. I lined a pot with foil and then filled it with water and a tsp of salt and baking soda. After the water came to a boil I laid the silver pitcher into the pot for just a minute or so. Wow, like magic the side of the pitcher that was in the water came out shiny. Here's a pic of the very distinct line of shine and tarnish. I had to get a photo of it at this stage. Then put the other side in the water and had a nice a shiny pitcher.
