Silver and Red, oil painting still life
8"x 8"oil on panel
$175 free shipping
I am a lover of Christmas. I love everything about it and try so hard to squeeze as much out of the season that I can. Always trying to do the same things we did the year before and the years before that along with trying to experience new things. For the first time, I have painted something "Christmassy". I love the shiny things of the season, and the smell of pine and have attempted to put a glimpse of it in a painting.
Thanks for visiting my blog. I would like to wish all of you a blessed and merry Christmas.
Oh yeah, shipping is free during the month of December!!!!!

Alaska Woods in October
I painted this one "en plein air" while in Alaska in October. This was the scene in the back yard of the people's home that we stayed at-John and Linda Luberger in Wasilla. I had to quit before I was finished and never got back to it until yesterday in my studio. I added some color to brighten it up a bit to make it more like i remember the scene. I love the lighting in Alaska that time of year. The sun is so low in the sky through out the day, so it looks like morning all day long=my favorite lighting for painting. I was so inspired to paint while there, but only got around to painting one afternoon. If I ever get to go back, I will definitely make a point to spend more time outside with my paints!

Front Range, SOLD

Today, with the help of my friend Cheryl, I had a great viewpoint of Colorado Springs to paint from. When we got there, Pikes Peak was in full site, but by the time I came back from using the gas station restroom down the street, Pikes Peak was hidden behind clouds. I hadn't taken photos of the peak, so just had to go ahead and paint it obscured, not what i wanted to do, but what could i do? I painted this while sitting in my truck because of the sun and wind. My sun umbrella would never have stayed in place with the way the wind was blowing. I've only painted from my vehicle a few times, but should do it more often, when the wind is blowing and there is no shade, it was comfortable.
